Bono: "Desire... greed... lust... deceit... vanity – all the essentials for a showman in all his forms. And of course a licence... to just look... in the mirror." [approaches tablet computer on a stand; sees a devilish face superimposed over his own image] "Oh, I haven't seen this guy... in quite a while."
Crowd: [whistles and cheers]
MacPhisto: [admiringly] "Oh!"
Crowd: [laughter]
MacPhisto: "Ohh. Age brings... beauty! And a spot of... bother. Ha! Ohh... is there a dermatologist in the house? [inaudible]" [turns head to inspect a lesion on his cheek] "Is that a slight... blemish I see?"
Crowd: [laughter and cheers]
MacPhisto: "I've been a busy little devil. Oh yes. But you've made it all so much easier for me these days. I told Stalin that one day, people would bug themselves! Yes..." [evil chuckle] "Oh yes, and here we are. The truth is dead, and the KKK are out on the streets of Charlottesville without their silly costumes! Ha ha – who'd have thought?! Ohh... Tulsa... Tulsa. When you don't believe that I exist, that's... when I do... my best work."
[Acrobat begins]
MacPhisto: "Don't believe what you hear. Don't believe what you see. If you just close your eyes... you can feel the enemy!" [evil laughter]

Grazie Massimo! Grazie a te e a tutti coloro che hanno dimostrato interesse riguardo a MacPhisto. Se ti ricordi come nacque l'idea di aprire questo topic... 
Il merito principale è sempre di quell'uomo e di chi ha trascritto tutti i discorsi - Canadanne, once again, thank you so much for your transcripts! - perché tutto è iniziato dall'esigenza di capire bene cosa diceva. E ne ha dette tante e poi tante... sempre in maniera interessante e brillante. Si può notare anzi, con il proseguimento del tour, come Bono ha affinato sempre più la caratterizzazione del personaggio.
